Idun was our fielded junior for this tie, and was well in the game, until losing her queen.  Better luck next time!

However, things then turned for the better.    Despite his usual time shortage, Paul turned what looked a likely drawn rook and pawn ending, into a win, remaining cool as he was able to administer mate. Also a fine win for Wojciech, who played the right moves at the right time to
beat the opposing captain, graded 30 above him.

Next, another success in his recent run of victories for Gordon, who is clearly enjoying his chess.  I liked the way that , the exchange up,  he simply gave  it back to ensure a simple winning pawn ending several ahead.

That left the home side 3 - 1 up needing only one draw in the last two games to win the match.   But fair play to the visitors, they fought back to take both games and secure the match draw.
